这道题目的回答大体有两种倾向。一种强调自己对学习语言并不怎么感兴趣。唯一会的外语就是英语，而且还不怎么擅长，只是因为它作为学校的必修课程不得不学习。另一种则适用于语言天赋很强的同学。他们对各种语言充满好奇，想要通过语言这一媒介去了解世界上更加多样的文化。

What languages can you speak? 你能说哪些语言？

I can only speak Chinese and English. Chinese is my mother tongue, and I have been studying English as a mandatory subject in school since junior high. However, despite having dedicated many years to learning English, I regretfully admit that I am still not very proficient in the language.

How is language learning and teaching in your school? 你们学校的语言学习和教学情况如何？

Although I hate to admit it, I have to say that the language teaching at my school is extremely poor. The teachers solely concentrate on elucidating vocabulary and grammar concepts, compelling us to memorize them, without incorporating any interactive activities in the classroom. It’s no wonder that the majority of my classmates find no pleasure in English class.
